Pennora ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal expense and income diary. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The short version: Pennora stores all your personal entries on your device and never sends your financial data to us. The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects limited data to serve them (see section 7).
Pennora stores the data you enter — transaction amounts, titles, notes, dates, categories, payment methods and tags — in a private database on your device. Your app settings (currency, theme, budget, backup preferences) and your optional lock settings are also stored locally. This information is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Pennora itself has no backend servers and no user accounts, and we do not run our own analytics. We do not collect your entries, notes, or financial data. The one exception is advertising: the Google AdMob SDK we include collects limited data (such as a device advertising identifier) to serve ads — this is described in section 7. Aside from that, we do not gather personal information or usage statistics.
You may optionally protect the app with a PIN and/or biometric unlock (fingerprint or face). Your PIN is stored on the device as a salted cryptographic hash, and a copy used for backup encryption is sealed using the Android Keystore (hardware-backed where available). Biometric verification is performed by your device's operating system; the app never sees or stores your fingerprint or face data.
Pennora can create backup files so you can move your data to another device or keep a copy.
These backups are written to your device's public Downloads/Pennora folder and,
optionally, shared by you through apps you choose.
The optional "Translate" feature uses Google's ML Kit on-device translation. The first time you use a language, its model is downloaded to your device. After that, translation runs offline on your device. Model downloads are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Your note content is not transmitted to us.
Pennora displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process certain information such as a device advertising identifier and general, non-precise location, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. This is handled by Google's SDK; your diary entries and financial data are never shared with the ad network. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device's Google settings. Where required, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Pennora is a general-purpose finance tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app shows ads, we recommend it for general audiences rather than children.
Because all data is stored locally, you can delete it at any time by deleting entries within the app, deleting backup files from your Downloads folder, or uninstalling the app (which removes the app's private database). Backup files you have copied elsewhere must be deleted by you in those locations.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the app or store listing.
