How My Daily Diary handles your information.
Your diary stays on your device.
My Daily Diary has no account and no servers. Your entries are encrypted on your device and are never sent to us.
1.Our approach
My Daily Diary is a privacy-first, offline personal diary. The app is designed so that your entries, moods, tags, voice notes, and photos never leave your device unless you choose to export them. We (Mugavari Studio) cannot see, access, or recover your content.
2.Information we collect
Mugavari Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your diary content or any personal information. The app does not create a user account, does not require sign-in, and includes no analytics or tracking of our own. Some versions of the app may display ads served by a third-party network — see section 7.
3.Data stored on your device
The content you create is stored locally on your device only, including:
- Diary entries (text), titles, dates, and word counts;
- Moods, categories, and tags you assign;
- Voice notes you record and images you attach;
- Your app settings, reminder time, and (if you set one) your app-lock PIN, stored only as a salted PBKDF2 hash — never as the PIN itself.
This data is held in an on-device database that is encrypted at rest using AES-256 (SQLCipher). The encryption key is generated on your device and protected by your device’s hardware-backed keystore.
4.Permissions we request
The app requests only the permissions needed for features you choose to use:

The app does not request internet/network access for its own features. It does not use your location, contacts, or camera roll beyond the images you explicitly pick.
5.Speech-to-text (dictation)
If you use voice dictation, the app passes your speech to the speech-recognition service built into your device (for example, the recognizer provided by your device manufacturer or Google). Where your device supports offline recognition, the app requests it. This processing is handled by that on-device service and is governed by your device or service provider’s own privacy terms — not by Mugavari Studio. We never receive your dictated audio or text.
6.Backups and exports
You can create backups of your diary. Backups are encrypted with a passphrase that you choose and are written only to the location you select (such as a folder or file on your device or your own cloud storage via the system file picker). The app does not upload backups anywhere on its own. You are responsible for the security and storage of any backup file you create and for remembering its passphrase.
7.Advertising
Depending on the platform or the version you install, My Daily Diary may display advertising provided by a third-party ad network (such as Google AdMob). Where ads are shown, that network may collect limited information — for example a device advertising identifier and basic device or usage data — under its own privacy policy, in order to deliver and measure ads. Some versions of the app are offered without ads.
This is separate from your diary: your entries, voice notes, and photos are never used for advertising, never shared, and never sent to us. 8.Children’s privacy
The app does not require you to provide any personal information to use it, and Mugavari Studio does not knowingly gather information from anyone, including children. If a version of the app shows ads, those are handled by the third-party ad network under its own policy (see section 7). A parent or guardian is responsible for supervising a minor’s use of the device and the app.
9.Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your content, including AES-256 database encryption, an optional PIN lock (PBKDF2-hashed), optional biometric unlock, screenshot protection, and auto-lock. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure. The protection of your data also depends on your keeping your device secure and your PIN, passphrase, and backups confidential.
10.Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual entries within the app, and uninstalling the app removes the app’s on-device data. Backup files you created yourself remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.

11.Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using My Daily Diary (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
12.Licence
Mugavari Studio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own lawful personal use. You may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the App except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
13.Your responsibilities
- Keep your device, PIN, and backup passphrase secure and confidential.
- Create and safeguard your own backups; you are solely responsible for your data and its recovery.
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the laws that apply to you.
- Ensure you have the rights to any images, audio, or other content you add to the App.
14.Not professional advice
The App is a personal journaling and self-tracking tool. Its mood tracking, statistics, streaks, and reminders are for personal reflection only and are not medical, psychological, health, legal, financial, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about your health or wellbeing, please consult a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
15.Availability and updates
The App is provided on an ongoing but not guaranteed basis. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We are not obligated to provide updates, support, or maintenance.
16.Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any data will be preserved.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mugavari Studio and its proprietor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of access to data, lost profits, or device issues, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App — including, without limitation, data that becomes unrecoverable because a PIN or backup passphrase was lost or forgotten. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid (if any) for the App.
17.Intellectual property
The App, its name, design, and code are owned by Mugavari Studio and are protected by applicable laws. Your diary content remains yours; this licence does not transfer any rights in your content to us, and since your content stays on your device, we claim no rights over it.
18.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu, India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the App or these Terms.
19.Changes to this document
We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date and version above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
